Congress for the New Urbanism WNYÂ Chapter
The Partners for a Livable Western New York
Our vision is to be the champions for walkable, well-designed places that people love.
About the CNU
WNY's Resource for New Urbanism
CNU-WNY's mission is to champion walkable urbanism across Western New York. Through practical education and positive action, we help local communities to be stronger socially and financially.

We live here. We love it here. We want to make Western New York the best it canbe.
Collaboration
At the invitation of community groups or local officials, we sponsor public discussions on local land-use and development. We act as a liaison between various communities and governments and conduct active, participatory neighborhood walks on how to make a neighborhood more livable.
Education
We sponsor and present educational programs, conferences, and trips, often with nationally known figures. We specialize in community presentations on land use, Smart Growth, and New Urbanism. Our Livable Community Awards recognize Western New Yorkers who have helped to make our home a better place to live.
Vision
We are your neighbors throughout WNY, and we care about the quality and livability of our region just as deeply as you do. But the success of your community requires a strong vision. We can help you and your community develop a compelling vision for growth and development, including innovative implementation strategies.
Projects We Love
Vision for the Scajaquada Corridor
We support the Scajaquada Corridor Coalition's vision for a revitalized Scajaquada Creek, a connected Delaware Park, and a restored Humboldt Parkway.

Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at CNU Western New York Chapter, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with this program.
Projects We Love
Remaking Buffalo for the 21st Century
The Congress for the New Urbanism has partnered with the City of Buffalo, Stantec’s Urban Places, and CNU members to explore how current and future land uses, including street design, can accommodate the mobility solutions of future decades, while at the same time providing a vibrant public realm for all Buffalonians
Projects We Love
Hamburg Roundabouts
Roundabouts help to slow down cars in intersections, reduce the severity of crashes, and make for more comfortable pedestrian experience.

Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements.
Projects We Love
Road Diet of Eggert Road
The Towns of Amherst, Tonawanda & the City of Buffalo, are asking Erie County to give Eggert Road a "road diet"
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.
